Mar 4, 2010 - Beatlesque ? The genius of surreal comedy - by the Masters, especially Spike Milligan. John Lennon's humour was inspired by Spike - and I think that John would have told you so himself. Along with a whole generation. ... and then came Monty Python... creative children of the Goons and Spike Q-series. Part of the cultural richness of the 1950s.

Mar 11, 2010 - Re the Beatles humour. I've found an app on the iPhone/iTouch appstore called Pocket Goon. It is based on a Show Called Fred. And guess what? It was directed by Dick Lester! He later directed A hard day's night and Help! So there is a proven and documented direct connection between Spike Milligan and the Beatles. (i.e. the same tv/film producer).
