Oct 1, 2009 - That is because you do not appreciate British humor, it is a very dry sense of humore, however it was made to be dry and out of left field. They were actually briliiant.

Oct 24, 2009 - When I was in high school, we all used to listen to Firesign Theater albums ('Nick Danger: 3rd Eye' being their all-time classic bit). I never realize how influenced those guys were by the Goons!

redredreds100 Says:

Oct 24, 2009 - In one corner, Britain and the goons, python, mr. bean, fools and horses and the young ones, in the other corner, America with friends, golden girls, dick van dyke and seinfield, RESULT, total KO for Britain

redredreds100 Says:

Oct 24, 2009 - not sure why you got 4 thumbs down and some scathing comments, if you don't think it's funny, then you don't think it's funny, you are welcome to your opinion, no reason for others to comment badly against you.

Nov 26, 2009 - I discovered the Goon Show by accident a few months ago, and have been listening to the episodes over and over again ever since. It's really interesting to actually see them instead of just listening, especially since they do all this mimickry and posing.

Jan 9, 2010 - @JamonJanom Yes, in fact in an interview Spike Milligan once called the Pythons his "nephews," which they took as a major compliment since he and the Goons were a major influence on them.

DannWoodhouse Says:

Jan 9, 2010 - what happened to Wallace Greenslade on this one?

RayNDeere Says:

Jan 10, 2010 - I believe this took place after Greenslade's passing.

NonStampCollector Says:

Jan 10, 2010 - @DannWoodhouse I've seen a few of these clips in this theatre, and the recorded shows are definitely different. Perhaps these are a rehearsal or something? Interesting. I'd like to know.

larkin38 Says:

Jan 17, 2010 - I used to listen to The Goons on the radio when I lived in New York in the seventies. I never laughed so hard. I found a bunch of shows on MP3 and listen to them all the time. To actually SEE The Goons is outstanding! Thanks for posting.
